You don’t have to be an elite collector anymore to attend the 42nd edition of the Fiac.

The Paris International Contemporary Art Fair, or Fiac, is now a famous meeting for art collectors or buyers but also for uninitiated art fans as the organizers spiced things up last year for the time with their own satellite fair called (OFF)ICIELLE at Les Docks – Cité de la Mode et du Design, and with the “Hors-les-Murs” and Musées en Seine programs.

Grand Palais

With 173 exhibitors from 23 countries the 2015 Fiac will showcase for art collectors famous galleries as well as emerging talents under the Belle Epoque glass nave of the Grand Palais where the main exhibition happens.

Don’t miss the special Swarovski Series presenting a work by the artist Wu Tsang, created in collaboration with the Austrian brand on the Balcon d’Honneur of the Grand Palais.

This initiative is the first edition of a program through which, each year, one artist will be commissioned to create a work using crystal as a medium. Wu Tsang presents her largest work to date. Inspired by the tale of the Wizard of Oz, from the cult film of the same name from 1939, this work is a poetic interpretation of the relationship between the disembodied, authoritarian voice and the illusion of power.

“Hors-Les-Murs”

Beyond the walls of the Grand Palais, the 2015 Fiac’s signature “Hors-les-Murs” program will introduce a range of projects spread throughout Paris including an ensemble of outdoor works in the Tuileries Garden, outdoor sculptures on the prestigious Place Vendôme, at Le Petit Palais or Museum Delacroix, an outdoor exhibition focusing on themes such as nature, biodiversity and the environment in the Jardin des Plantes and the Museum national d’Histoire naturelle, outdoor works on the Seine riverbanks, as well as a musical program at the Maison de la Radio.

Musées en Seine

Also this year, Fiac and OFFICIELLE bring together a number of Parisian cultural institutions in the program Musées en Seine (Musée de l’Homme, Palais de Tokyo, Musée d’Art Moderne, Institut du Monde Arabe and more) linking together by boat various exhibition venues located along the Seine to the sites participating in “Hors-Les-Murs”. Musées en Seine spans a territory beginning to the west of Paris at the Maison de la Radio and ending to the east at the Bibliothèque Nationale de France, who presents an exhibitions of books by Anselm Kiefer that have never before been shown to the public. (River shuttles will connect the pier under the Pont Alexandre III and the Docks in thirty minutes, on a pier inaugurated especially for OFFICIELLE)

(OFF)ICIELLE

Meanwhile (OFF)ICIELLE will be held in Paris from Wednesday, October 21st through Sunday, October 25th , 2014 at Les Docks – Cité de la Mode et du Design. The event will host 68 galleries, specializing in contemporary and emerging art. (OFF)ICIELLE showcases young galleries whose exhibition programs demonstrate a remarkable aptitude for deciphering and promoting the most recent trends in contemporary art. It emphasizes not only the discovery of emerging artists and galleries, but also as the rediscovery of artists who have played the role of father figures or visionaries for the younger generation. Take a look at the 200 exhibited artists.
