Visiting Paris but love Italian culture, products, and food? Borgo delle Tovaglie and its summer terrace in Paris is the place for you – come taste a fine glass of Prosecco, or taste Italian cuisine made with high quality Italian ingredients (mostly from Bologna and also available in the store). First and foremost, it is an immense concept store offering everything from Italian furniture to fabric to fine foods concentrating on the Bolognese region.
La Via Tovaglie is a Bologna-based textile firm founded in 1996 and dedicated to its values producing high quality and artisanal fabrics. La Borgo delle Tovaglie opened in 2014 in a 700 m2 space near Place de la République, and is elegant and chic in its mixture of modernity and tradition. Founded by two Italians, this is definitely a store to browse for a bit of Italy in the 11th arrondissement.
Its retro-decorated restaurant serves only excellent quality foods – Parma ham, tapenade, mascarpone, focaccia, and even pancetta or mortadella are available to stay or to-go, made and served by an Italian chef. Cooked foods such as Bruschetta and traditional plates are also delicious to eat at the restaurant.
Furthermore, the terrace (open for summer 2015) is a great place for a brief rest after traipsing around the store. Enjoy dolce vita with a Spritz on hot summer afternoons.
