We pay our own checks at the end of our meals and Café Martini didn’t spend one cent for this article. We write about what we think is best for you.

Traditional Italian food fans, this is your stop. A few meters from dreamy Place des Vosges in Le Marais district, Café Martini is your new traditional restaurant that brings the best of Italian produces in the heart of Paris in a muted and comfy atmosphere. A true bacaro (Italian tapas bar / small servings of typical full-course plates) like in Venice, Italy (minus the gondola ride).

The first Venetian touch is of course the Aperol Spritz, the perfect summer cocktail for a first evening drink. Most of the Spritz you’ll find in town are way to sugary (it’s a big trend this year, Parisians are asking for Spritz on every Paris terrace). This one is decent and well-balanced.

Then comes the dinner, and the restaurant specialized in cichetti (antipasti/appetizer to share). The rare smoked buratta is a killer and a must-order. The truffe Pizza and the calamari or gamberoni plates as well. Finally, the Venetian wines list is not to be missed.

A great Dolce Vita stop while visiting the Marais district.
