While strolling through Le Marais district in Paris, you can find one of the best chic tea rooms, bakeries and brunches in Paris. Carette, a genuine institution that since 1927 attracts passers by with its sweet and delicious treats on its great sunbathed terrace on the famous and romantic Place des Vosges.
Firstly established in the Trocadéro square, Carette, which bears the name of its founders, has a second location under the Place des Vosges’ arcades, in a more quieter and intimate setting. The terrace overlooking the square is a plus that can be enjoyed either in Summer or Winter.
Carette is the ideal spot for a gourmet break at any time of the day. You can treat yourself with a nice breakfast or brunch, enjoy one of their savoury dishes for lunch or be charmed by their sweet delicatessen at tea time.
In a charming and friendly atmosphere, with a classic design that reminds for a bit to the Roaring Twenties. Porcelain dishes, apart from the refined touch they have, give a feeling of familiarity as if we were sitting in the lounge of our grandmother´s house.
Carette has something to offer for every type of taste. From the sweet side, raspberry tart and macaroons are just amazing. On the salty side, the specialities are the house sandwich and scrambled eggs. Old-fashioned hot chocolate (Chocolat chaud à l’ancienne) is added to the list, this is a place not to miss, especially for sweet lovers.
It is a little expensive, but is well worth a visit.
