Paris remembers the events of 1944, when Free French forces under General Leclerc were finally able to oust the Nazi German occupation on August 25th.

71 years later, the memory remains strong and the City of Paris has organized a program under “Liberation – Paris remembers” to pay homage to the sacrifices of designated martyrs and celebrate reconstruction after the devastating war.
