The traditional Chinese calendar is organised around the movements of the moon, with the new year usually falling between January 21 and February 20. This year, Chinese New Year will be celebrated across the world on Saturday January 28th, 2017.

Here’s the Paris program and where to enjoy Chinese culture in Paris.

Chinese New Year in Paris, by the tourist in parisFamily Tips

You have three Chinese hoods in Paris: one in the South, the largest, called the Triangle de Choisy, know as Chinatown. One in the East, in the Belleville hood and the rue de Belleville. The third is in the 3rd arrondissement, near Le Marais district, on rue du Maire.

These are the places where the parades of dragons, lions, martial arts and people in costumes happen on Saturday, January 28th: Triangle de Choisy from 1pm / Belleville from 3pm / Le Marais from 2pm at Place de la République.

Le Food Market, your tasty bi-mensual open-air street food rendez-vous in Ménilmontant, turns Chinese on February 2nd, 2017.
On this night, Food Market partners with La Taverne de Zhao, a trendsetting & typical Chinese hotspot (specialties from Xi’an China) in the even more trendsetting rue des Vinaigriers.
