In the main heart of the Montparnasse district not far from the busy rue de Rennes, on the Left Bank in Paris, you can find this sweet place in the tiny rue de l’Abbé Grégoire.
There stands Colorava, a modern tea room that only by starring at its front window full of pastries calls you to head inside and discover all its amazing dishes.
Colorava, whose meaning is colourful in Polish, is far from being a traditional tearoom, you might even think you are in front a showroom at first glance. Its decoration and furniture, with different styles and origins, lives in perfect harmony. Exposed beams, massive wood tables, colourful chairs, reminding us that we are in Colorava, and Scandinavian style wallpaper style, blended all together create a cosy, quiet and friendly atmosphere. An open kitchen on the dining room, allows you to watch the patience and dedication of the working team at the same time you enjoy one of their masterpieces.
A great option for your weekend brunch either with friends or family, Colorava has tempting offers for every occasion. On weekdays, from Tuesday to Friday, you can enjoy breakfast (9, 11h30), lunch (12h15, 4pm) or tea time (till 7pm).
Saturdays and Sundays, is time for brunch
With an extended shift (11, 5pm), which gives you a hint about how busy this place can get, two menus are available, the Mini brunch (28€), or the Gourmand (35€). Whatever option is a burst of flavour capable of awakening all your senses, as you try different dishes you don´t want to stop yourself from being surprised. Everything is at its zenith of freshness, jams, home made bread, squeezed orange juice and the list continue. Not to mention their pastries, Mr Paul sesame, is the signature dessert, a shortbread base with lemon cream, nougat and sesame seeds.
Part of Colorava´s success comes from the weekly updating of the menu carried out by the chef and its team. Always willing to satisfy the customer and surprising him at the same time, every week a new menu is created according to the inspiration and market availability of the products.
In very few words, tasty and nice perfectly match in Colorava. Better book for weekend brunch as it gets very very busy.
