The Canal Saint-Martin in East Paris, a favorite hotspot for bobo locals, especially during the sunny and hot days, when they come seat by the water for endless outdoor evening, and home of some of Paris most cool bars, coffee shops, eclectic venues, and restaurants, is going to be totally emptied during this Winter 2016.
After recent revelations about how dirty and polluted the bohemian canal actually is, it needs to go under serious renovation works. It will be cleaned during three months, just before Spring season.
Funny to discover what was on the bottom of the Canal on the first day they emptied it: scooters, bikes (especially Velib with no less than a 1000!), strollers, caddies, etc!

Then it was time to take all the fishs out of the water to move them upstream, in the Bassin de La Villette.

Let’s hope locals and visitors (and you!) will now take good care of this amazing chill and green spot in Paris.
