September 20 and 21st, 2014, discover a secret side of the city during the “Les Journées du Patrimoine” in Paris. “Heritage Days” give visitors the chance to look for free behind the doors of hundreds of buildings which are usually closed to the public eyes.

In Paris, glimpse inside the wonderful politicians’ homes (L’Elysée, home of the President or Matignon, home of the Prime Minister, or the Senate) and many museums open their doors for free.

Discover with a guide who is going to take you inside the Saint-Jacques tower, or City Hall (Hôtel de Ville), the lovely Bibliothèque Forney (Forney library) or the park des Buttes-Chaumont in the 19th arrondissement.

Is it worth it? Be aware it’s going to be over crowded. It’s definitely a morning activity. In the afternoon, unless you don’t mind waiting in a line for hours, do something else. It’s a chance to walk through Paris, on the “berges” and enjoy the very last summer rays.
