Hero, the trendiest Korean canteen in town. And with the France-Korea year (2015-2016) ahead of us in Paris, this new restaurant is worth tasting.
It won’t take you long to find the little joint just by the busy Grands Boulevards. The neon pink sign “Hero” will instantly catch your attention.
On the first floor, the bar where they make the cocktails and where you can sit as well for dinner. Benches on the terrace and wooden tables. On the first floor, a most creative Korean atmosphere.
Frozen cocktails and finger food to share
Hero is the latest creation of three expats in Paris who know already a lot about high-end street and finger food. They invented Candelaria, a famous and avant-garde cocktail bar and taqueria (tacos) in 2011, Glass bar in 2012 (pioneer in the reinstallement of South Pigalle) and Mary Celeste in 2013 for natural wine and cocktails.
At Hero, like with tacos or other street food, dishes can be shared: From Yangnyeom (fried chicken)and its three sauces (spicy gochujang, sweet garlic or plain) to medusa, kimchi, roasted pork-rib sandwich and seared rice cakes with shiitake ragout. Don’t miss the delicious gnocchis (as we posted it on our Instagram)!
On the cocktail front, a brand new concept as well with their frozen cocktails to cool off your spicy dishes.
To know: Hero is located at the corner of rather infamous street in Paris known for its after-dark reputation. No need to tempt the devil and get adventurous.
When? From Tuesday to Sunday, from 7pm to 11pm / At lunch, from Tuesday to Saturday, from 12pm to 2:30pm.
We also enjoyed the more traditional and excellent Korean cuisine in far East Paris, Shingané.
