Welcome the future (again!) La Philharmonie de Paris is Paris latest inox gem. Three months ago after the opening of a spaceship in the Bois de Boulogne, in South West Paris with the Fondation Louis Vuitton, here’s a new one inside the Parc de la Villette on the exact opposite side of the city, North East.

Unless this time, it’s not a museum it’s a concert hall. Created by famous French architect Jean Nouvel, this musical arena opening January 15, 2015 is supposed to be the “Centre Georges Pompidou of music“. Arts fan will understand. Let’s say it will be an anticipated contemporary art museum dedicated to music. The idea behind opening La Philharmonie is also to develop and attract people in this fast pace changing area of Paris. First weekend, entrance, concerts and exhibitions are free!

And the program in terms of music & arts is already tight (check out the event calendar in English). You should be looking especially for the big David Bowie retrospective kicking off on March 3, 2015Book here already!

The restaurant-bistrot located on the sixth floor and called “Le Balcon” (the balcony) is definitely a must-do and is open to you even if you don’t attend a concert or an exhibition there. A good place to relax on the panoramic terrace, after a show inside the concert hall or a walk in the park. Open for diner only. Book here.
