Nested in a district once deserted by trendy Parisians, and moving towards a gentrification with the arrival of hipsters and bobos, Le Barbès (the name of the area, the street is in and metro station across the street is Barbès) is a new 700 square-meter neo-industrial restaurant, bar, dancing and rooftop on three floors. A brand new terrace to add to our summer selection.

Opened in May 2015, the brasserie lead to extensive press coverage. “Should we be talking about gentrification?” “Is this bobo enclave in this working class neighborhood a good idea?” Fact remains Parisians rush to this place for its first-floor garden patio and its retractable glass ceiling, its sunbathed terrace, its morning detox juice (5,5€) and also for its dance floor at night.

With a pretty high range of prices for the drinks on one hand (there again out of touch with the prices you’ll find in this district but not unreasonable for the prices you usually pay in Paris), Le Barbès offers on the other hand pretty creative menus for lunch and dinner at high but reasonable prices: 16€ tartare or cheeseburger, 13€ for the salads and 6,5€ for the desserts.

When? Everyday from 8am to 2am / No reservation possible at dinner. For lunch, book at + 33 1 42 64 52 23

Tip: If the waiting’s line too long, head to Café du Commerce, one block away, a very friendly British-like pub. Or to Chez Bouboule, a friendly bar with a pétanque field, at five minutes walking distance.
