The Canal de l’Ourcq is an area in North Paris that is becoming more and more popular for its chill vibe with plenty of bars, restaurants, and petanque (a French boules game).

This summer, take the chance to (re)discover the Canal with the 10th edition of “L’été du Canal”.

From July 2nd to August 21st, the Summer of the Canal has put in place various activities on the weekends this summer along the Canal and the northern neighborhood. With 150,000 visitors in earlier editions, the events are huge successes and make for great weekends with friends.

Recreational weekends on the barges of the Canal

For example, on the weekends you have the opportunity to ride small shuttle boats along the canal for 1 or 2 euros from the Bassin de la Villette to Pavillon-sous-Bois.

The barges of the Canal are also transformed into an artsy and game-filled area for a fun and relaxing atmosphere. Furthermore, at the temporary Port de Loisirs in Bobigny across the Parc de la Bergère, free ateliers are being held on animation, construction, recycling, or gardening. All with street food stands and barbecues, you can even find dance classes, balls, shows, and concerts.

It doesn’t end here – Summer of the Canal is also offering numerous Saturday night cruises along the canal under various themes from brunch, electro, festive, rural, or even cycling. Reserve a spot here.
