Ten years after the launch of the city Vélib’ bicycle-sharing scheme, Paris gives its grey two-wheelers a makeover. Just a few days after a Hong Kong based (French owner) bike-sharing schemes began popping up around Paris under the name Gobee.bike.

The City of Paris unveils two new colorful (blue and green) models that will replace the existing 20000-Vélib’ fleet from January, 1st, 2018 30 percent of which will be electric.

The manual model comes with an apple-green basket and chain guard. The electric version, which has a maximum speed of 25 km an hour and a range of 50 kilometers, is turquoise blue.

The new system allows bicycles to be parked in tops-and-tails fashion when stations are full.

As for the rates: 1€ every half hour for a classic ride, 2€ for an electric bike.
