Like every month (see our September program), here are our exclusive program of things to do if you travel to Paris in October 2015. Like every wise visitor, you don’t want to miss a thing you’d like while traveling to the city.

Here are our tips to feel like a local when visiting Paris, based on your mood: can’t-miss events, exhibitions, new venues and hotspots.

Artsy Mood

Your can’t-miss Fall exhibitions: Discover your must-see art shows opening in October (Picasso, Warhol, Korea Now!).

The Parisianer: Discover the funny fictional creative covers framing Paris inspired by the iconic American magazine, The New Yorker.

The “Paris Musées Off” starting on September 20th for two months, Paris museums turn into performance venues. The program here.

La Nuit Blanche, on Saturday, October 3rd: On the first Saturday night of October, every year, Paris turns into an art show with this creative festival from 7pm to 7am called La Nuit Blanche (The White Night).

Star Wars strikes back, from October 10th: A unique four-month contemporary art exhibition on the mythical saga.

Artsy Thursdays, on Thursday, October 15th: Three times a year, art galleries and their owner open their doors for a vey social and artsy night in the heart of Paris.

The Netflix Fest, on October 15th to October 20th: the first movie, tv show and documentaries festival organized by Netflix in the most surprising venues in Paris.

The Musée de l’Homme, grand reopening on October 17th: With the reopening of the famous museum located on Place du Trocadéro closed since 2009, rediscover a fully restored space, structured around a strong museographic project featuring the themes of globalization and cultural hybridization. This new museum will present Man, a unique race, how it has populated the planet since appearing 150,000 years ago and its specificities, but also its relation to primates and its interaction with nature and the changes they have wrought on each other.

FIAC, on October 22nd to 25th: The annual International Contemporary Art Fair to discover the best and latest pieces of contemporary art in Paris (at the Grand Palais and in the city).

The Paris Comic Con, on October 23rd to 25th: The famous comics convention of San Diego, California, is making its debut in Paris.

Discovery Mood

La Fête des Vendanges de Montmartre, on October 7th to 11th: Discover Paris local wine at the annual Grape Harvest Festival on the Montmartre hill.

The Automédon vintage car and motorcycle show, on October 10th and 11th: Vintage car lovers, at Parc des Expositions Paris- Le Bourget, discover famous classic car from the 20th cenury like the 1950s Ford Thunderbird, the Ford 32, the Talbot Lago 32 cylinders and of course motorcycles like the Triumph or the Royal Enfield. OktoberFest, on October 8th to 18th: The famous Munich Beer Festival comes to Paris for the first time at the Paris Event Center! Head to the official website to book your tickets and get the latest updates.

Fall Mood

Your best and trendiest coffee shops: Warm your heart in the coolest coffee shops in the city.

Family Mood

Ratatouille, on October 17th and 18th: The world famous cartoon on the “French rat wannabe chef” gets its symphonic show at the Grand Rex, for a family musical movie night.

The Neu-Neu Children’s Fair, until October 18th: An annual event for children and parents in all types of festivities. Held in the Bois de Boulogne, in the 16th arrondissement in the west of Paris, this is your fun family outing where you will find Parisian families and children enjoying the rides, the sights, the sounds, and the food!

Foody Mood

Le Réfectoire: The famous burger food truck (Best burger at the British Street Food Award in London in 2013 and best burger at the Burger&Hiphop in Berlin in 2014) just opened in September its own restaurant/cocktail bar (cocktails made in France by Gravity Bar) in the Saint-Martin flea market, in the 10th arrondissement. The Salon du Chocolat, on October 28th to November 1st: “The world’s largest event dedicated to chocolate and cocoa” for chocolate lovers, at the Porte de Versailles Exhibition Center (Hall 5) (South Paris), a unique opportunity to discover and taste chocolates that are not found anywhere else.

The Paris Velo Festival: Bike freely or race in Paris on Sunday October 25th!

Music Mood

The Pitchfork Music Festival, on October 29th to 31st: One of the best yearly musical event in Paris with a unique line-up of rock, pop, indie and electro artists during three days: Beach House, Four Tet, Ratatat, John Talabot. La Confiserie: discover a brand new electro night club in South Pigalle.

The Silence Station Night, on Saturday, October 3rd: La Gare du Nord train station turns into a giant night club during La Nuit Blanche.

Le Salon du Vintage, on October 17th and 18th: This famous closet sale in Le Haut-Marais district is a shopper must do if you’re looking for classic vintage and rare pieces of clothing. Collectors’ favorite Le Salon du Vintage celebrates for the first time this October the iconic Yves Saint Laurent safari jacket once worn by Betty Catroux and Loulou de la Falaise, (after previous editions dedicated to David Bowie, the 1970s, Alexander McQueen and Vivienne Westwood).
