Starting Friday October 2nd, 2015, taxis in Paris must have a card payment terminal in their car, thanks to a recently passed law, and must then accept your paiement by credit card.

Taxis, for whom cash payment is the general case, have recently had to face the rise of online-paid car services like Über (and historically premium companies like G7 whose drivers has owned terminals in their cabs since the very beginning).

That being said, it will be impossible to check every cab on one hand and on the other hand, the law didn’t set a credit card minimum purchase, giving them the liberty to refuse your paiement by card under a certain amount.

Feel free to let us know in the comments below or through the contact form if you grab a cab that doesn’t own a terminal (and tells you it’s normal) or refuse your paiement by card while owning a terminal. Thanks!
