What a great modern French cuisine experience. Paris is home to some of the world’s finest and priciest restaurants and Porte 12, opened this Fall 2014, is the best new exemple of the city perpetual renewal of its gastronomy experience. A rather intimate (13 tables) and first-class new restaurant nested the lively 10th arrondissement.

Heading Porte 12 is French chef Vincent Crépel whose open kitchen puts up a faultless performance at creating dishes. Once again, a great example of a a new generation of innovative restaurateurs rebooting the French capital’s offer. Something rare is the chef himself coming out of his kitchen to greet you at the end of your dinner.

No less than seven dishes (a 65€ one menu / 35€ for a 3 dish-lunch menu) will be served to take you through a unique and delicious dining experience with a regularly changed menu: from Jerusalem artichoke on a bed of burnt onions and flavored by black truffles to a codfish (the best we’ve ever had) served with arbequina (Spanish olives) and a carrot-ginger emulsion. The two desserts are exquisite.

The talented sommelier and dining room director Thibault Passinge helps you perfectly pair your food with a great list of wines (count 50 euros for a good first range bottle).

A great place for a very romantic date night.
