Every weekend in July at La Villette, a futuristic park in Northeast Paris, you will find themed festivals and activities that are free entry to enjoy the summer under “Scenes of Summer”. From July 2nd to 26th, four 2-day festivals under a variety of programs are meant inspire you to eat, drink, dance, cook, watch shows, and listen to music. This is a perfect excursion for families with children and friends, to discover cultural, culinary, and musical diversity (and more) at La Villette in a festive and celebratory atmosphere.

Four themes from Spain to Bollywood

From July 2nd to July 5th, come and enjoy an environment-themed festival in preparation for the COP21 talks in September, featuring interactive installations to debate the future of the planet. With two expositions as well as food trucks and local markets on the 4-5th, there will be plenty of things to explore. Furthermore, La Villette will host on these the weekend various ateliers encouraging recycling and reuse of objects in creative ways.

From July 11th to July 12th, the festival will shift focus to Spain, celebrating its culture and lifestyle, food, Flamenco, and more with markets and even Flamenco guitar lessons. With tapas, pintxos, croquetas, jambon iberico, and more offered bodega style, immerse yourself in Spanish culture this weekend at La Villette.

From July 18th to 19th, La Villette will bring an Algerian theme and atmosphere to Paris, offering cultural immersion with food, dance, teahouses, and art ateliers. With shows, classes, and even an Algerian short story reading, experience and learn more about Algeria and its many cultural facets.

From July 25th to 26th, the main theme will be on Bollywood, a famous Indian cinema genre that celebrates singing, dancing, and the color of life. The most eventful weekend, La Villette will offer a large range of activities including more tea salons, Indian food trucks, Carrom games, beauty parlors, Bollywood and Banghra dance lessons, spice and jewellery markets, meditation and art lessons, and much more.

Tip: Heading to La Villette but want to spend more than just a few hours there? Starting July 22nd, La Villette will also be hosting open-air cinema nights.

When? Every weekend from July 2nd to July 26th, 2015. Events start from around 12PM-2PM, and last until around 6PM. (Check the schedule for each week for more exact times).
