Parisians love traditional bread, love their baguette. It’s actually one of the world’s best known cliché. And bakeries are all over town. And while it’s tough to ditch on ant of them, one seems to have won the competition, according to the 2015 Grand Prix of the City of Paris.

Located on the Montmartre hill, in famous and lively Rue des Abbesses, the Grenier à Pain bakery is Paris best baguette maker of the year. Expect long queues to grab a baguette on the weekend but it’s definitely worth it. If you’re tired of waiting, don’t worry, all bakeries are worth a shot (yes, we proudly stand up for all small local businesses).

Why is it the best baguette? First of all, it’s not the first time this bakery and its baker win this competition. It also has the best cooking, taste, inside of the bread, smell and general aspect, according to the judges. (Check out the official website to discover the other bakeries in this competition)

And the cakes are pretty good as well! Head of there, and eat the crust while walking in the streets, like a true Parisian.
