A few meters away from Place de la République, this restaurant opened in October 2014, is the place to be for the best smoked ribs and meat in this area, not to say in all Paris, along with French barbecue restaurant Flesh, in South Pigalle, but the way they smoke their meat is totally different here: no charcoal, no gas, only pure French oak logs, giving this smoky taste on this outside and the softness of the meat on the inside.

The BBQ-Bourbon sauce that goes with it (served on the side, not directly on the meat) is a Central Texas tradition.

In order to get you the best meats, the menu is deliberately small: five type of meats, four siders and three deserts but it will be enough, given the size of the meat rations. Black Angus beaf, porks, Label Rouge poultry, you name it.

The owner, who lived in the US for 7 years, wants quality and tradition to be the main criteria of his restaurant. And be sure to receive a very warm welcome in a lively atmosphere.

And that’s not it. For Bourbon fans, the owner’s collection of Bourbon is impressive. No less than 50 American high quality bourbons stand on the shelf. The owner is a fan and an expert, he will recommend with many details a glass of his (pricey) whiskey to match your dinner or as an after-dinner liqueur.

Even better? The Beast now has its own craft artisanal local beer called… “The Beast”. Created and brewed by Montreuil-based brewery Deck & Donohue, you’ll only find this delicious IPA (perfectly matching your ribs) in this restaurant.
