Being scammed abroad while on vacation can be part of your trip and could ruin it if you don’t pay enough attention. Justtheflight.co.uk has picked out the most popular scams in the world and The Tourist in Paris has kept the one you should watch out in the street of the City of lights.

A rose for your girlfriend. If a man approaches you while you’re with your companion and offers her a rose, be aware he will then ask you to pay for it at an extortionate price. You might then buy it anyway not to look bad.

The found ring. A woman will drop a ring right in front of you and ask if you dropped it. If you say no, she’s gonna prove you it’s real gold while it’s not, obviously. She’ll then offer to sell it to you for a much higher price. Walk away and don’t answer.

Street games. Walk away when you see one on the side of the street or be sure to loose your money. A man will usually performs on a cardboard box a game such as guessing which cup a ball is in or a magic trick. He will have a group of accomplices disguised as tourists pretending to watch the game. It’s only to make you curious and make you look at the game. While you try to win against the performer by betting bills of 10 and 20, accomplices will try to pickpocket you. Where? Pigalle/Montmartre.

The fake tickets. While you’re queuing for the ticket office, a fake but official looking staff member will offer you a higher priced ticket to bypass the queue. Tempting but the tickets won’t even work at the door. Be wise and wait.

The charity petition. Maybe the trickiest of all, because a group of children, who will pretend to be death, will as you to sign a petition and ask for a donation. While you read and are about to give away some money, they will pickpocket you. Where? Haussmann boulevard, Galeries Lafayette.
