We love this chill & quiet courtyard and cosy coffee place. Away from the crowds, located in Le Marais, come enjoy the warm atmosphere and the sweet Swedish tastes of the local brewed coffee, juices (only 2 euros) and cakes (cinnamon buns!) imported from Northern Europe.

Outside. Enter through the massive carriage door facing a quiet garden and come have a seat in the cobblestone courtyard at one of the cafe tables or on the outdoor stairs to take a break after a stroll in Le Marais. Perfect place to come to after a visit at the Musée Picasso.

Swedish Institute Cafe, by the tourist in paris

A hidden backyard sunbathed garden

Inside. An intimate cafe in a very Nordic atmosphere. The Swedish waitresses & waiters serve you local and healthy produces prepared in the kitchen next door. Great for lunch as well. It feels like you’re at home.

Want to know a secret? There’s a hidden backyard sunbathed garden behind the building (summer entrance through rue Elzevir from 1pm to 7pm). Deckchairs for you, an international library for your kids (during the summer), a pop-up café, so everyone can quietly chill for a few hours… Read more here.

The Swedish Institute also hosts exhibitions you should definitely take a look at.
