Article by Lily Heise from Je T’Aime, Me Neither for «The Tourist in Paris».

When choosing your romantic bar in Paris, you might have more choices on the Right bank (check out our exclusive list here).

That said, the Left Bank, with its tiny medieval streets, graceful parks, secret gardens and quaint neighborhood bistros, provides an excellent backdrop for a romantic evening out, one which would certainly be accentuated by stopping in at one of these diverse bars.

La Compagnie des Vins Surnaturels

A classy yet trendy venue, you can savor your date and some delectable natural wines from their well-selected list. A perfect first date for wine-lovers, grab a discreet table in the backroom or snuggle up on one of their colorful and comfy sofas.
Where? 7 Rue Lobineau, 75006. Metro station: Odéon (Lines 4 & 10)

Prescription Cocktail Club

One of the few speak-easy style bars of the Left Bank, once you find your way inside, the eccentric décor of plush sofas and curious antiques coupled with their innovative cocktails adds up to the right prescription to cure any romantic nerves, plus impress your date on your unique choice of bars.
Where? 23 rue Mazarine, 75006. Metro station: Odéon (Lines 4 & 10)

Le Relais d’Odeon

The back room of this sophisticated café at the bustling Odeon crossroad is cozy… but it’s the side terrace along the Cours du Commerce Saint-André that takes you back in time to a lost romantic era. The passageway is perfectly Parisian with uneven cobblestones, twinkling lights, the oldest restaurant in Paris (Le Procope), and even part of a 12th century medieval tower (hidden in un Dimanche à Paris). The other café options on the lane are also good, but Le Relais is possibly the best place to enjoy an apéro with your amoureux while soaking up this enchanting atmosphere.
Where? 132 Boulevard Saint Germain, 75006. Metro station: Odéon (Lines 4 & 10)

L’Entrepôt

For a more artsy date head down past Montparnasse, the former bohemian center of the city to this current-day creative hub. With an ever-changing agenda, you can take in a concert, place, movie before or after a drink or dinner on the ground floor and terrace of this former warehouse.
Where? 7 Rue Francis de Pressensé, 75014. Metro station: Pernety (Line 13)

Le Ciel de Paris

If it’s dazzle you’re after, take the elevator up, up… up to the top of La Tour Montparnasse where you’ll be on cloud nine, or as close to the clouds as you can get in Paris on one of the highest points of the city. Rightfully called “The Sky of Paris” you can sip a tasty cocktall or glass of bubbly while being memorized by the spectacular, sparkling view the whole city. If this doesn’t wow your date, it’s hard to imagine where else would… or order another glass of from their deluxe champagne menu.
Where? 56 floor, Tour Montparnasse, 33 Avenue du Maine, 75015. Metro station: Montparnasse-Bienvenue (Lines 4, 6, 12 & 13)
